ABA for SLPs: Practical Overview of ABA and Hands-on strategies and Techniques to Generate Best Outcomes (LIVE SERIES)

LEVEL: Beginner and Intermediate

FORMAT: LIVE (Recorded training vailable after live session)

Why would an SLP want to learn about Applied Behavior Analysis? Well... if you work with students or patient with Autism, do you feel like you have the knowledge to get the best outcomes? As everyone is aware, individuals with Autism have needs that are unique to each person. Having said that, major challenges / deficits like behavior, language / communication, and social skills (and sensory) are fairly common across the board. As you are probably well aware, challenging behavior is disruptive and often gets in the way of progress. What if there's a "magic bullet" to minimize behavior? Well... Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), also commonly known as behavior modification, is a close second. This highly effective evidence-based intervention falls under the domain of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA). But unlike other therapies, almost anyone can learn how to implement ABA intervention. Regardless of the level of your knowledge, with proper implementaiton of ABA, you WILL see results.

Listen to what an SLP had to say:

"I truly enjoyed the course and learned so many things that I was immediately able to put into practice!...  as an SLP in a pediatric private practice, I work with many children on the autism spectrum. Though I am not in a classroom (anymore- I used to be school-based) I found the course to be rich with strategies and tools I can use daily. I also appreciated the presentation of the research behind the methods/techniques. Knowing that there is solid research behind what I am doing is very important me. Thanks again for a great course. I am certainly more confident in the things I do with my clients!" - A. Van Boven, Lead Speech-Language Pathologist

ABA for SLPs: Practical Overview of ABA and Hands-on strategies and Techniques to Generate Best Outcomes

During this LIVE 6-week training series you will gain practical knowledge on how to use the most effective evidence-based Autism intervention called Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). With a solid foundational understanding of ABA, students will be able to apply basic procedures, strategies and techniques to get the most the time that you spend teaching and providing therapy to children on the autism spectrum (and other special needs).

Using a highly innovative format that includes analysis of real case scenarios submitted by clinicians and a panel comprised of SLPs with experience using ABA, not only will you learn the basic strategies and techniques, you will learn from SLPs and BCBAs on the best ways to incorporate ABA into your practice to generate better outcomes - not only for your students/patients with Autism but others under your care.

Each session is 2-hours in length. Approximately 50% to 60% of time will cover official content. The remaining time will be spent to analyze cases submitted by SLPs and to review questions submitted by the audience. Although this series will be presented live, each session will be recorded and made available for purchase for those unable to attend the live sessions.
