
Ethics: Code Section 2.0 Behavior Analysts’ Responsibility to Clients

We are proud to introduce the next installment of our ethics series focusing on delving into scenarios and discussion of the new Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts. This webinar is presented by Dr. Jon Bailey, PhD., BCBA-D, and co-author of Ethics for Behavior Analysts will be focusing on code 2 of the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts. This section of the code discusses the responsibilities Behavior Analysts have with their clients. Issues such as appropriate billing practices, third-party involvement, and confidentiality were discussed.
During the live June 29th session called “Ethics Code Deep Dive: Code Section 2.0 Behavior Analysts’ Responsibility to Clients,” Dr. Bailey discussed one of the most important areas of the code. Dr. Bailey provided a detailed overview of all 15 sections of code 2 and discussed scenarios and questions submitted by individuals in the field of Behavior Analysis.
Learning Outcomes:
- Participants will have an in-depth understanding of all sections of code 2 of the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts.
- Participants will learn the responsibilities of accepting clients, providing consultation services, and involving third parties in services.
- Participants will know the rights and prerogatives of clients and treatment/intervention efficacy.
- Participants will learn how to maintain confidentiality, records, and data, and when disclosures are appropriate.
- Participants will discuss issues related to documenting professional work and research and when it is appropriate to interrupt or discontinue services.
- Participants will learn about contracts, fees, financial arrangements, and accuracy in billing reports
