CEU + Printables: Building Language for Early Learners Bundle

This collection pairs Erin Lombard's recorded introduction to functional communication with four resources: an FCT literature summary, a communication-modality form, color flashcards and the Using My Words Not My Feet story. The session compares spoken words, signs, picture exchange and communication devices; the materials add reading and practice examples for parents, educators and support teams.

In the 2012 recording, Lombard examines task analysis, a learner's existing communication skills, mand data and shaping across modalities. The examples include period-specific communication devices and a prerequisite-based approach to modality selection.

The collection brings together a recorded training and four distinct reading or practice resources. The short form, story and flashcards have different purposes; they do not constitute a single individualized communication plan.

Recording context: Recorded in 2012. Device examples and prerequisite terminology reflect that period. The accompanying FCT summary is historical research reading, rather than an updated treatment protocol.

• Functional Communication Training for Children with Autism and Other Disabilities: 12-page historical ABA Literature Summary. Sections cover FCT research, manding preferences, classroom applications, and antecedent and consequence manipulations. The synopses include methods, limitations and references; the file carries a 2017 copyright.
• Communication Modality Assessment: Two-page form with 25 yes/no items and a scoring guide for vocal words, sign, picture exchange, low-tech or high-tech communication devices, and prerequisite communication training. It is the historical worksheet discussed in the session.
• Teaching Colors: Building Early Language with Flashcards: 58-page PDF combining printable color cards and the Teaching with Flash Cards instructional booklet. Card prompts move from identifying a color to finding and naming examples in the environment. The general booklet discusses matching, sorting, receptive identification and expressive labeling; its animal and object examples are examples, rather than additional card sets included here.
• Using My Words Not My Feet: 28-page illustrated PDF with ten numbered story pages and an instructional guide. The story acknowledges frustration and anger, then presents expressing feelings, asking for a break and taking deep breaths. Its printed classification key lists pre-K, kindergarten and elementary learners.

The expert recommended age for this bundle is early learner (2-7 years), However may be utilized with any learner.
