Before you begin: a note on safety

These activities are designed to be done together with an adult present the whole time. Please stay with your child for every activity in this curriculum.

Balloons — including uninflated balloons and pieces of a burst balloon — are a serious choking hazard for young children and are the leading non-food cause of choking deaths in children. Keep all balloons, small parts and other small items out of your child's reach before, during and after any activity, and put them away as soon as you have finished.

Scissors and any other sharp materials are for the adult to handle. Do the cutting yourself and give your child the finished pieces.

You know your child best. If any activity does not feel safe for your child right now, skip it or change it — the goal is the skill, not the materials.
