This is knowledge training, not your Pennsylvania mandated-reporter training. Pennsylvania requires the Child Protective Services Law / mandated-reporting training for IBHS staff to come from a Department-listed organization — the Pennsylvania Family Support Alliance, the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the University of Pittsburgh’s Child Welfare Resource Center, or another organization on the Commonwealth’s list. We are not one of them, and this module does not replace that training.

This training does not satisfy the § 5240.73(c)(7) first-aid requirement. First aid, universal precautions and safety — § 5240.73(c)(7). The included “I03 — Universal Precautions, Safety & First-Aid Readiness” module does not satisfy this requirement; you must obtain that training separately. For the 30-hour pre-service requirement at 55 Pa. Code § 5240.73(c)(7), Pennsylvania accepts training only from the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, the National Safety Council, the American Safety & Health Institute, Medic First Aid, or the Emergency Care & Safety Institute. Special Learning is not one of them. We do not hold your training records with the Department, and we cannot tell you whether you have met § 5240.73(c). Whether your agency accepts this training toward § 5240.73(c) is determined by your agency under § 5240.13(c). Please confirm with them.
